Taylor Wimpey build high quality, energy efficient homes in developments where people can live well, feel part of a community and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. This is key to our purpose to build great homes and create thriving communities.

Taylor Wimpey homes are designed to be energy efficient. Sustainable features can be seen throughout our homes, from high quality insulated roofs, walls and windows, through to energy-efficient appliances, zones heating systems and water-saving taps.

Very High Standards of Insulation

Our new build homes come with a smaller carbon footprint than an equivalent second-hand property. Taylor Wimpey is leading the way towards a greener, healthier future by installing innovative sustainability solutions and the very latest technologies in our homes.

In line with the Government’s Future Homes Standard proposals which were set out in 2020, Taylor Wimpey’s new build homes will be ‘zero-carbon ready’. This means that they won’t use fossil fuels for heating or cooking and, once the UK’s electricity grid reaches zero carbon in 2035, in line with the Government’s projected target, they will produce zero carbon emissions.

Noise and air quality have also been carefully considered in preparing the masterplan proposals. These areas will be carefully managed during construction to minimise any impacts on existing and future residents through a Construction Management Plan which will be agreed with Guildford Borough Council before construction can start on the site.
